Wildlife Observation Deck
The Wildlife Observation Deck is located in Necedah National Wildlife Refuge on Headquarter road between State Highway 21 and the Visitor’s Center. It’s one of the first of many observation areas located in the wildlife refuge area. The deck could hold about a dozen people and makes great opportunity for outdoor photographers to shoot a wide variety of Wisconsin Birds including: Golden Eagles, Turkey Vultures, Sandhill Cranes, Osprey, Northern Harrier, Barred Owls, American Kestrel, Red-Tailed Hawks and America’s Bald Eagles. This area is a mix of flat prairies, lowland marshy grounds surrounded by a pine / oak forest giving a great backdrop of pictures. Because of the diversity of habitats you might also see Wildlife Turkey, Whitetail Deer, Wolves, Badger, Fishers, Wood Ducks, Red-Headed Wood Peckers, Snapping Turtles even Canadian Geese skimming past the area…
